Ok so blogging again.
Yes it is true. I deserted my blog for facebook. But now to realize alot of people will read this blog over facebook. I just dont always have much to say. LOL I know for all you who know me think that is a ridiculous statement. BUT when typing to type...these days blogging is effort!!! But I will be back into the blogging phase I promise! Back to blogging. Now I have been told that my cousin reads my blog...so maybe there is a reason to blog. So Heather keep reading...I will keep talking to you. So until I get some responses as to who reads this thing...Heather this blogs for you. Keep reading I will keep typing! LOL So the beach sessions are over. It was a very good time. It actually did not rain much at all. I shot Liam and Faith and we had a good time. Both kiddos loved the beach and ocean it was quite funny. It is odd how kids have NO fear of those BIG HUGE waves beating the earth. They would just walk right to the sea and become mermaids and mermen!!! So I will post a few images when they are all ready, but I came home to 2 sessions and a husband who went back to college! How funny...yeah.

GIVE IT UP!

So I have officially been told I am a bad blogger and should give it up!! LOL I am SOOOO sorry. It has been nuts and when you are not sure who is reading...you kinda stray. So here is what has been happening...Babies have been getting older, families have been getting bigger (NOT MINE! LOL) and I have been busy shooting shooting and shooting! I entered some images into the Fair this year again. I won 3 firsts, 2 seconds and Grand Champion. I think my days of the fair are done. Need to try for bigger contests. That is a February project.

Beach sessions are getting ready to happen. I am all booked and ready to go! My husband gets to be daddy day care all weekend! He should love that!! LOL What else? I have had several sessions, many weddings, my garden has come and gone...time to pick the watermelons...not too much else. Oh my baby girl starts kindergarten on the 31st of this month. It will be a love hate thing. I am not ready for her to be gone all day...I will cry. What else. JEWELRY....NEW IS JEWELRY I am excited. They are plain charm pendants, but I am so head over heals in love with them. Will be Christmas bonuses this year I think.

Planning Fall and Christmas Sessions, buying a bunny for next years easter sesisons....I think that is about it for what is new and exciting.

I seem to say more I am sorry for not blogging than Hey are ya keepin up! It is just busy and summer, and busy and summer. Horseshows, babies, teens, seniors, and summer!! I am awaiting the arrival of a clients 4th baby, I believe she is about 8 days old. This should be a fairly easy session 4 time mom, with a baby that likes to sleep!! Ok so it has been nearly a month. Who could still be following? We have been super busy on the Family Front. We have refinished our bedroom, and back bathroom. Both my babies have gotten older, I have shot 2 seniors, 1 newborn, 1 generations session, 6 Longwood Gardens sessions all since I have typed to whoever is keeping up with this last. Garden

So I thought while pictures upload I would blog about my garden that is slowly taking shape here on the Taylor land. I have a 16x36 garden. It will grow corn, tomoatoes, strawberries, radishes, beets, onions, jalapeno peppers, cucumbers, green beans, and some sort of melon, or pumpkin, or baby pumpkins so I can make and can pumpkin pie filling. Mmm. So I have tilled it and now am waiting for Jimmie to stop working so much so we can put my box around it, (we are boxing it in), and I can actually get to the growing and hoeing part. That is the best. We are going to make a small chicken tractor to actually be able to put the chickens in the garden to let them do the scratching and digging crap. Not sure how yet depends on the garden layout. I am excited. I like to grow things.

Well it has been a while since I have typed anything...I have been busy and Jimmie has been working LOTS of overtime, not to mention Easter, Rachels 5th birthday! Can you believe it. I cannot! and just life happening. I am excited though. I have a set of seniors I am going to shoot! I am so excited. It will be sooo much fun I am hoping. I just went out today and scouted a location for pics at the water. Very very cool place, these poor first set of girls are going to be put through the ringer! LOL They should do great! Been a while!

WOW It has been a while huh! A whirl wind has occured! It was called ducks. LOL Over the course of 4 days (2 weekends) I photographed almost 25 children, had 3 duck wranglers, did many loads of laundry, over the course of 12 days I changed duck bedding about 30 times, filled the gallon waterer up 4 times a day, went through 25 pounds of baby duck food...hauled my kiddos out 3 times a day to see the little quackers, drove 3 hours one way to deliver them to their new home, and now I am starting to re-coup. BUT would I do it all again next year! YES! I will be in late March ordering the duckies again...and hopefully I will be able to find them a home! LOL Now for any of you who do not know the images are up and on my website. I have a few more to post...but am working on those!! It will all get done! Hopefully by this weekend!

The little quackers will be born today their hatch day is March 16th!!! I am excited, so I will get them tomorrow or Wednesday. How much fun! Being as my birthday is Friday this is an early birthday present for me! Hee hee. So today my husband is off so we are going to spend the day together...for my birthday. LOL we are going to CJ Pony Parts so he can buy me new leaf springs for my 68 Mustang. Is that sad...it is my birthday and we are going to spend time at the car parts store! Oh well...it is what we do here at Taylor Acres.

But back to the ducks. Tonight I am setting up the set, and will be posting pics of it online, emailing everyone who has sessions booked...and posting the Duck Portrait Packages then too.

The duckies have been ordered, and I am patiently awaiting their arrival. Ok so I am trying to patiently wait! I AM SO EXCITED!! The babies will hatch on the 16th and get here on the 18th and we start shooting on the 21. They will be 5 days old which means they will be a little hardier than newborn, but still very tiny and cute. I will have 2 very excited kiddos on my hands, and we will work to "train" the duckies before their big debut. This will also give me a chance to figure out what in the world we are going to do with kiddos and duckies. Make sure you look for my images of me with my new babies. You know I wont be able to resist! LOL SO get your outfits ready...I will be posting a background setting image when I get back!! Get excited...they are baby ducks for goodness sakes!

The ducks are coming!

As of right now I am waiting for Ideal Poultry to open in Texas so I can call and discuss my duckling needs! I am planning for the sessions to happen March 21st and 22nd. These session will be open first to my current clients. Gotta take care of my peeps! LOL Then I will open it up to anyone with kids sitting up to age 3 or 4. I will be posting a picture of what background I will be using and the "set" so you can decide what outfit you want your child in!

It will work like this. Everyone will get a "time slot" and it will be for 1/2 hour 45 minutes. We will shoot about 15 images, then I will "show" you the proofs and you will pick right then and there what you want. I will be discounting prints if you order that day. Anything ordered after will be regular price. (it will be worth it to order then, so bring your list of who you might want images for). I will be offering a special art piece for all customers who I photograph on the day with the ducks. Not sure yet what it will be but it will be cool.

I am excited to bring ducklings to all my little clients, just imagine their little faces listening to 10 little ducks quack in a box!!

Ok so I am pouting now...but not for long! I really want to do ducklings for Easter. I think the bunny images are cute...but I dont have a friend who will take a bunny, she will only take ducklings. Soo...I still have the bunny I can borrow but I think a baby would be so cute. Anyhoo. I have not given up my quest for ducklings. If I can get them I will be holding a weekend session fest. I will need "models" as I have not shot this before. The "model calling" will be open to previous clients, and will be a free session with a discount package available. BUT let me get the ducks first! I have one more place to try. Problem is I have to order 8 ducklings, not sure if said friend wants 8. LOL Ducks are soooo cute. NEW LITTLE TREVOR

I have SUCH a hard time choosing what images NOT to keep. Sometimes I lose my shirt just on printing the proofs. BUT LOOK AT THIS LITTLE GUY. He is officially my nefew by marriage. He would be my second nefew as his brother TJ is my first. I just love his little lips. Ohh I wanna squish em...well save that for later!! LOL. So here is new baby Trevor, just 4 days old in this session. I want anyone who is pregnant thinking of newborn session, look at these of Trevor, and the last set of Emma, the difference is Trevor is 4 days at his session, Emma is 4 weeks at hers. Does not seem like much time, but they get very very awake come the 3 & 4 week marks! Just something to think about.

Bad Blogger

Ok so I have been a bad blogger once again, but hey keeping it current was not on my new years list! So what has been happening? Jimmie (my husband) busted his head during the ice situation we had here...Rachel and Jimmie both got a stomach thing. Rebecca has been to the hospital with high fevers and is getting better as we speak. I have photographed a wedding, 4 babies, and my sister-in-law just had a new photo subject yesterday. He is so cute! I am trying to get taxes started while finishing up (or trying to) weddings from last year, and....am waiting on Spring. I am ready to plant things, and grow things, go camping, and have BBQ's on the grill. I am ready to go for walks and photograph spring baby animals. I am just ready for it to happen! Now with that said. I must go finish working on the images I am supposed t be working on! I should have stuff to post tonight! yippie!

Longwood Gardens Sessions

Okie Dokie so here is the deal. I have came up with 2 dates for Longwood Gardens, the first is in late April early May need to check 2 more things before I commit to the actual date but it will be a Sunday. Yes I know it will be busy there...but most people will not take off on a Monday or that would be even better! The reason I picked this time is because they have what is called "Spring Blooms" this is when all the tulips are in bloom all the daffodills and crocuses (sp). So I am going to have 4 time slots open for a location session there in the spring. The second one there is called "Autumn colors" I have not decided on the exact date as those beautiful colors happen due to weather changes. I would like it to get a little colder so the colors just POP! with a nice blue sky. Will be awesome.
So those with little ones not walking by either date dont be discouraged. A 9 month old sitting in a bunch of tulips is gorgeous!!!

The studio was FREEZING as outside it was 12 degrees so my little heaters were trying...but failing just as hard...and he was not feeling up to par. Can't tell though!!

Where oh where have I been. HIDING!! LOL no actually this time of year brings beating the pavement passing out passes, stocking the rack cards in different places drumming up new and exciting clients! February is tax time, then March my birthday usually starts wedding season. However I get to shoot a unique smaller wedding in February. I am looking forward to that. I need to be creative. Still looking for Seniors who want to go out and do something fun. Oh also...I have to find a blog counter. I am still convinced with no comments on here...no one is reading!!

She is 9 months and just stands and toddles and sits and grins. She was a delight to work with and I must say we put her through her paces. They live in VA. And so it goes...they start getting older. No longer are they little sleeping balls of playdough. They start thinking. Babies...they start watching, wondering and thinking. Then they slowly transform into kiddos, and then people. Quite facinating if you stop and think of the short amount of time it takes to go from 2 different humans...to 2 cells...to 4 to 8 and in a matter of 9 months breathing and eating, then in a matter of 3 months starting to pay close attention, and learning learning and thinking...4 months teeth...5 months sitting up...6 months starting to 'get it'. 7-8-9 months rolling crawling, rocking. MIND YOU THIS 'PERSON' was nothing more than a thought...16 months ago. It just blows my mind.

Sorry to go on and on. Rachel starts kindergarten this year...I am getting mushy. Hug them, mold them while they are playdough...they grow so fast.

Well what can I say. It has come and gone. It was a wild ride this year!!! With parties and food, presents galore, and Christmas orders. Thank you all of my clients for making this the most chaotic year ever and I mean that from the bottom of my heart. Without work and chaos I would have to work someplace else! In this economy thank you all for choosing portraits, calendars, collages and other fun stuff as gifts. With each piece that goes out of this studio, I know that there is memory given forever...and well we know I can get mushy. I just would like to sincerely thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for allowing me into you lives to follow, or catch that fleeting moment. Kids are little for too short of a time. All my first time moms...believe it. I never did, and wow Rachel is turning 5 in 4 months...(should I cry now or wait) and Rebecca is going to be 2 in May. (can someone please tell this baby weight it is time to go?!)

They change with ever minute that passes, and yes some minutes you want to pass quicker than others, they are all minutes of your journey.
Ok enough of the sappy stuff...lets get down to the business of 2009...

#1 NEW background ordered for the studio I am VERY excited about.
#2 NEW mini-sessions are being developed...stay tuned.
#3 NEW credit cards will be accepted as soon as I become a merchant.
#4 NEW refer a friend get a coupon will be started in 2009...still developing this concept.
#5 TWO beach sessions will be offered. I need some feedback for who might be interested in this so I can know when to book!

It is just going to be an exciting 2009!!

It is amazing what photoshop can do. With children screaming, kicking, and biting one can only imagine the time it took me to get these right in the computer! From one face to another image to image I cut and pasted till my eyes popped! These kids were horrible - terrible and never invited back. NOW I AM JUST KIDDING WITH THESE. Now my whole viewing audience you can pick yourself up off the floor...smile and have some eggnog. These are my friend Jenn's kids and she has harrassed me till I put them online!!

OH MY GOODNESS we have made it! This was my last session before Christmas and I have made it through 2008. I just love these images. These parents were troopers and so were the kids as we shot and shot. Little Baby Jack was the sweetest baby he would just laugh and laugh. You could just whisper his name and he would just grin and he is just 10 weeks! The little blonde was a cutie pie and so was her sister, they hung in there for me. Posed family photos can be hard on young kids but these girls posed and smiled when I needed them to, and mom and dad did a good job at letting them be kids, and not smiley statues. Way to go to us all!!

Christians 2nd Month Session

Ok so yes I do photograph animals in family session and alone. However when people ask if they can bring their animals sometimes I do get a little worried just because you dont know how an animal is going to respond to lights, studio, me etc. Lauren and Sean brought Chloe and did not tell me so there was no anticipation or time to stress. SHE DID SO WELL...once we got her in the door! LOL She thought she was at the vet and I guess her last visit there was not one she liked! So once in here she let me move her all around, she listened and well this post is really supposed to be about Christian but look how great Chloe made these family portraits!! YAH CHLOE...oh and the humans too! :o)

Family Session

This time of year is special and an honor for me. To be invited into families homes to capture their special holiday memories, I am blessed. Yes I am working but it is almost as though I am an extension of sorts to their families. I sit in the floor, play with their kids, help them make sure they look their best, I get to know them. It is not like selling something where you go in and it is all about you and your product. In fact my product is all about my customers, thier tastes, decorating their homes. I listen to what they want and try to make it a reality. I am just very happy to be where I am doing what I do, and at this time of year I just get mushy. So have I said it today...I love what I do.

It is crazy busy in the studio with holiday merri-ment. It is just a really fun time of year in all the chaos. This weekend is our family Christmas get-together. I am cooking tons of food for that and looking forward to just being with family and taking a small day-long break from working. Ok so now I think I might get a little weird on you. HOWEVER I must say this. For anyone who has ever been here i think we all know there is no rhyme or reason why I do what I do when I shoot. Just ask anyone who has been sitting in 2 or 3 different positions..and I say "nope...still not right". Quite frusterating to the client I can imagine but I am not going to shoot an image if it does not "feel" right. Well this little man was here two days in a row! The first day was an ok day, he was NOT going to sleep...nope no way. When he did he would wake up if we changed postions. So I said to mom...dad is done bring him back when we can just wait him out. And I am certainly glad we did! I think the images that were "supposed" to come out of this session did. The last few images of him and mom are some of my favorite images I think I have ever photographed. MOM...I know you wanted naked...but I think those shot are what was "supposed" to be! DO YOU BELIEVE IT. Ok so with only 83 days untill the Holiday of all holidays it is going to start to get busy here at the studio. Prints, Holiday cards and calendars...oh how I love the excitment of it all. So this is a wake up call for me and you. I will be announcing a great Holiday promotion for the Christmas season. A hint it will have to do something with FREE CHRISTMAS CARDS. Ok that was a big hint, but the theme this year is family, family and more family. So your family is only you and your dog...that is family huh! Once the details are all ironed out, I will post it. You will want to get in on this as it has FREE in the title and it involves something most people mail out anyhoo! Ok so I cannot say the post office will go in on it and give you free postage...but the cards will be free...zero...zip...zilch...nada.

Ok so I KNOW bees are not this busy...their little wings would fall right off. It has been tremendously great here. Can you put those words together and make sense? Anyway busy is an understatement but it is wonderful...knowing January is coming up and that is a S-L-O-W down period. This weekend is the beach sessions. Cant wait for some RnR with a little work thrown in. I am a beach fan...not an ocean fan, and really I hate the sand. But something about being at Ocean City or Assateague makes me feel young. Faith 6 Month Session

It is always fun to watch babies grow up with the month to month plan. The first few months the images all kinda look the same except different props or flowers, but the same "baby". Then when they hit 4 months, then 5 and then 6 they start to get a little more personality. I love the sitting up stage. They are curious but not too timid, it is just a fun age. I am in love with the "angel" shots in this session...and mom and dad...lets talk about that Black & White and where you need that on your wall!! LOL See you in a few weeks for 7 months! Can you believe it already!!

Mini Vacation

So I have managed to squeeze in a birthday party and mini vacation over the last few days. My hubby and I decided to take a MUCH needed break and we took the girls away to Assateauge Island for our anniversary. It was very very nice, and we think we will be going back in September. SOOO if any of you blog readers want beach pics, email me and let me know. We are thinking of a shooting vacation Sept 27 & 28 & 29. It is about to get busy in the studio. I am ready to assemble my "2008 Fall Collection" for babies and couples here in the studio. I get to do a test run with 13 puppies on Friday Night...I AM EXCITED!!! We shall see how it goes! Oh Lily..How wonderful it is to get revisits from the little ones. Do I sound like a sap! I hope so...I love what I do. This little one was not very happy with me, then she would warm up a bit...then well...she is one, these things happen. But I do think I got that little pouty lip just right in a few. 4 year old Garretts Session

So my friend Jenn who is mamma to the Super Dooper Cutie Patootie Pie Super Why, better known as Wyatt also has a soon to be 4 year old Garrett. Now Garrett and my oldest Rachel are on and off again friends, (The power of 4 and "your not my best friend" then after the return of the toy...you are once again my best friend.) Jenn needed some studio shots to make a birthday invitaion, so I quick pulled Garrett into the studio and photographed him and a few of Rachel just to see what we would get! So I have been MIA but have not been anywhere. Ok went to the beach with my mom, her husband and the girls but my husband has been racing this weekend, so I have been full time mom, no time to blog...work...or well take a shower! LOL My kiddos keep me busy. Today I am just exhusted! But I am out here trying to get some images done, I have people that want to see their babies!! I will sneak a peek on here when I can! Beach

I really want to go to the beach for an overnight. I think I am getting the summer bug. You know where when you go once...you just have to go again and again. I have this same problems with eating crabs. I have them once and before you know it every weekend I am at the Crab Shack in Chesapeake City beating down the door. Same thing with Spring fever, buy once plant...then another before you know it the whole backyard is full of budding seedlings trying to be big and strong only to be left for the summer fever at the beach thing. I am not complaining. Just letting everyone to gear up...I am planning a beach retreat and if anyone wants family shots...you might want to make an appointment! I will keep you posted!

I will be posting this off and on until I am happy with the number of people I have shot. What I am looking for are 07-08 eleventh graders going into their Senior Year graduating in 09. What a FABULOUS wedding this was!! Heather & Craig were such wonderful people. Well nothing from me for a few days. Been 4th of July-ing it up. Also had a few baby sessions and today TRIED to photograph my daughter Rebecca with a friend of hers, mind you they are both 14 months old and well...lets just say it went as imagined. Wyatt (Rebeccas friend) was very interested in being interested in what I gave him. Rebecca just wanted to come to me! Tough tough, but once I get the images processed I will post a few. Some are terrifically funny. I also photographed Ms. Faith a clients baby I have been following since before birth. I just love watching them grow up little by little. It is hard to do monthly shots but I do love seeing them. I also photographed Faiths cousin. I am hoping to have everything processed by Wed and have images up!

I went out to photograph a friends second maternity belly. We were on the beach, and it was hot but a great time. Well for me, I mean 9 months pregnant on the beach, Rachael was ROASTING!
